My Photography

It's been a while since I've used Blogger.  Here's a few of the photographs that I've taken in the last couple of years.   My work is currently (2020) on display at Ledge Hill Studio Downtown in Westport, NY.

Adirondack Art Associaton, 2016 Show 3

Due to time constraints the photos that I'm using for the next Adirondack Art Association show are ones that I have used before.

A watercolor filter was added to this picture of the Champlain Bridge from the dock at the Port Henry boat launch.

It was a cold March day when I took this picture on the Sherman Road in Westport, NY.  I have sold a couple of prints of this over the past few years.  This seems to be my most successful photograph so far.

This was taken on December 23, 2013 after a freezing rain storm.  I have this picture in a rather large format and it's very impressive.  A smaller version was old at the Round Barn Photography show in Waitsfield Vermont in the Summer of 2014.

Keeseville Public Library

Each year the Keeseville Public Library hosts an art show and sale.  This year the show runs from July 7, 2016 to August 4, 2016.  Not sure how many people attend the show but I thought I'd give it a try with some local views.

Obviously, I was fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time to take this shot

These waterfalls on exist when there has been LOTS of rain.  The rest of the year they are dry.

Adirdonack Art Association Show 2016 #2

It's July 2016 already and we're on the 2nd Summer Show at the Adirondack Art Association Gallery in Essex, NY

I have two new pieces for the 2nd show plus one older piece.

Essex Red Chairs (sold)

I saw this image originally in a regional magazine and was sure that it was manipulated since I didn't think that you could get both Camel's Hump, the mountain in the background, and Split Rock, the small island in the foreground together in such a way.

I decided to see if I could find the spot where it was "taken".  Lo and Behold, there is a spot on the Albee Road in Essex, NY that the view can be seen.  This is my result.

Sunflower Morning

This picture was taken in 2014 at a very difficult time of my life.  I had just been diagnosed with cancer and was having a hard time with accepting the fact. I was told about these sunflower fields a few miles from my house and decided to check them out.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  I spend about 90 miles taking photographs and in the process got soaked since it was an early humid morning and the sunflower were covered with a heavy due.

A few days later when I went back the sunflowers were still there but had gone past their peak color.

Essex Inn

I have used this picture in other exhibits.  Not sure why I like it, but it appeals to my eyes.  The Essex Inn is a gorgeous building just down the street from the Adirondack Art Association gallery.

HERITAGE HOUSE SHOW -- SUMMER 2016

I try to exhibit photography that deals directly with Westport since the show is being sponsored by the Heritage House. The show runs from late June until Labor Day.  For the first half of the show, there is an auction of the material which runs until July 28. After that the photographs may be purchased at a set price.

This is a new photograph from January 2016.  The Wadhams Electric Plant at sunset.  Unusual to see it with all the lights on. (sold)

Another new photography from the Summer of 2015.  A beautiful almost cloudless summer day with the flags flying.  I wish there were more clouds to give more life to the picture.

This is not the exact picture I used in the show.  A window in the old Wadhams Methodist church, now a private home.
